Russian yacht heading for Turkey

Luxury yacht Flying Fox (IMO 9829394), which has been linked to the Russian oligarch Dmitry Kamenshchik and valued at $400m, was heading in the direction of Turkey after it was reportedly investigated by the US over accusations of arms trafficking and money laundering, according to Business Insider.

Kamenshchik is chairman of Domodedovo Airport in Moscow and has a net worth of an estimated $2.1bn. The superyacht was first anchored on March 21st in Port Don Diego in the Dominican Republic. It then set sail on April 22nd with no official destination, eventually heading towards the coast of Algeria and then further on in the Mediterranean in the direction of southern Turkey.

2019-built, Cayman Islands-flagged, 9,022 gt Flying Fox is owned by Tarcona Marine SA care of Imperial Yachts SARL of Monte Carlo, Monaco. As of May 14th the vessel was in the Eastern Mediterranean, 100 miles east of Crete.
