Revised clearance process of crew and passengers at Singapore ports

Standard Club has informed members that, in the light of the current security climate, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) has reviewed its process on the clearance of crew and passengers at Singapore ports. With effect from November 1st the ICA will require that all passengers and seafaring crew disembarking/embarking commercial vessels berthing at PSA and Jurong Ports’ terminals/wharves report to one of the four designated ICA crew offices and undergo security checks on their passports and luggage.

In addition, the driver conveying the passengers/crew exiting the port will be required to await further instructions from the ICA officers before proceeding.

The ICA said that this revised process would apply to clearance at ports only. Clearance processes at other areas such as shipyards and anchorages remained unchanged.
