Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC) has announced the appointment of Paul Knighton as Marine Liability & Logistics Underwriter within the insurer’s Marine Liability division. Knighton will report into Darren Carr, Head of Marine Liability, TMHCC – International Group; his role will focus on developing the Logistics and Freight Forwarders book of business.
Knighton has 18 years’ experience in the London Market with significant knowledge of both broker and underwriter roles across the Logistics, Cargo and Ports & Terminals classes. He joins from Skuld, where he was Head of Marine Cargo & Property. Prior to this, Knighton held senior roles at TT Club and Lockton.
Carr said that “we are delighted with Paul’s appointment and believe his strong, technical knowledge and experience complements the team well. The market remains challenging for all Marine & Transportation classes, but with a strategic approach and an emphasis on relationships, technology and adding value, we are successfully navigating the current market challenges.”

The team began trading in January this year, offering specialist Marine insurance. The division’s products include: Marine Trades, Marine Property, Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Reinsurance and Marine & Energy Liability.
