Brit Ltd has appointed David Lim to the post of CEO, Brit Global Specialty Singapore, effective May 15th 2017. Lim, together with Brit CUO Asia-Pacific Charles Barrett, will be “responsible for identifying growth opportunities and establishing new lines of business for Brit Singapore”, the company said. Brit opened its Singapore office in March 2016.
Mr Lim will report to Brit CUO Christiern Dart. Mr Lim, with more than 15 years of marine insurance experience, joins Brit from ArgoGlobal, where he was most recently Head of Marine in Asia. He had previously held senior roles at Allied World, RSA and Aon, having started his career at Richard Hogg Lindley.
He also founded the Marine Insurance Committee under the General Insurance Association of Singapore as the sole representative of Lloyd’s Asia on the committee.
Brit Group CEO Matthew Wilson said: “We have ambitious plans to expand our footprint in the region and David will play an important role in this. Importantly, David brings with him a wealth of relationships and knowledge of the local market, something that is especially important when operating in the region and will be of significant benefit to Brit as we look to expand the business.”
