Many dead after cruise ship coach crashes in Mexico

At least 12 people, among them one child, died, with a further 17 injured when a bus carrying passengers from two cruise ships to Mayan ruins in eastern Mexico overturned on the morning of December 19th. Seven Americans and two Swedish citizens were among the injured. There were 27 passengers from cruise ships Celebrity Equinox (IMO 9372456) and Serenade of the Seas (IMO 9228344) on the coach. The crash occurred as the bus was on its way to the ruins at Chacchoben, about 175 km south of Tulum. In addition to the tourists, a guide and driver were aboard the bus.
