Legal firm Hill Dickinson has announced the appointment of Jonathan Goacher as a partner, as it expands its regulatory practice. He will be based in the firm’s Singapore office and will conduct the practice across Asia.
Goacher is a regulation specialist with around 20 years’ experience at global law firms in Asia. He is primarily known for his expertise in the insurance sector. He joins the firm from DWF, which has announced the closure of its Singapore office.
Meanwhile, The Swedish Club and Hill Dickinson are offering an online seminar on Navigating Sanctions Due Diligence, which will take place at 09.30 CET (08:30 GMT) on Tuesday November 24th.
Swedish Club said that the impact on a company of breaking sanctions, or even being perceived to have broken sanctions, was often severe and could even put a company out of business, effectively shutting it out of the financial markets. The webinar will focus on the importance of due diligence and risk assessment. It will shine a light on the impact of the recent Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) guidance, including the reach of sanctions, assessing counterparty activity and trade sanctions risks, sanctions compliance programmes and procedures, and contractual precautions. Participants are Siiri Duddington, Partner at Hill Dickinson, and Trudie Protopapas, Senior Associate at Hill Dickinson. Malin Högberg, Director, Corporate Legal at The Swedish Club, will be moderator.
