Hong Kong-flagged bulk carrier Five Stars Fujian, which had been detained near Gladstone by Australian authorities for more than a month, is now free to leave, but has been banned from Australian ports for 12 months.
The Federal Court first arrested the ship in late July on commercial grounds. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority detained the ship on August 12th for not paying wages to its crew for a year and for not having an adequate food supply for its trip.
