General cargo ship Fom (IMO: 8100624) had been engaged in illegal trading with the Russia annexed Crimea since December 2016, Ukrainian vigilante group InfoNapalm investigation has claimed. It said that the vessel had called at Sevastopol port four times, a violation of sanctions and shipping restrictions imposed on Crimean shipping. In all four cases, the group claimed after delivering cargo from Turkey to Sevastopol, the vessel was loaded with sodium bound for Egypt. However, the group asserted that, when transiting the Turkish straits, the vessel showed Novorossiysk as loading port. The report was handed over to Ukrainian authorities and legal proceedings are to be launched, including an official request to be sent to Turkey.
