Another pirate attack reported in Gulf Of Guinea

A cargo ship was attacked by pirates at around before dawn on January 30th in the Gulf of Guinea, south of Lome, Togo.

The vessel was thought likely to be bulk carrier Rowayton Eagle (IMO 9575216), which was en route from the Canary Islands to Lagos Nigeria. Ship tracking data showed it to have stopped on January 27th and then starting to travel in a circle. A couple of hours after the attack the vessel was either drifting or moving dead ahead in attack area.

2013-built, Marshall Islands-flagged, 35,812 gt Rowayton Eagle is owned by Rowayton Eagle LLC care of manager Eagle Bulk Ultraco LLC of Stamford, Connecticut, USA. It is entered with West of England (Americas Claims team) on behalf of Rowayton Eagle LLC.
