Zika rules eased for entry into Chinese ports

Huatai Insurance Agency & Consultant Service Ltd has advised North of England Club members that port entry requirements for vessels entering China from Zika affected countries have been eased.

Previously, vessels were required to produce a mosquito eradication certificate (MEC) prior to entry into Chinese ports. However the “Notice on Prevention and Control of the Zika Virus into China” was rescinded on March 2nd 2017. Huatai said it understood that it would not be renewed.

“As such vessels will no longer need to produce an MEC certificate as part of their port entry formalities for China after this date”, the agency said. http://www.nepia.com/media/643292/Huatai-Circular-PNI-1703.pdf
