Bermuda-headquartered re/insurer XL Catlin has promoted Rob McAdams to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Marine, with immediate effect. McAdams replaces Lee Meyrick, who joined from Zurich Insurance in 2013. McAdams had previously held the role of UK/ Ireland Marine Leader with XL Catlin.
Chief Executive for Global Lines at XL Catlin Doug Howat said that “we are delighted that Rob has stepped into this position. Rob has been with XL Catlin since 2000 and during this time has honed his expertise spanning Hull, Ports & Terminals, and Global Marine & Upstream Energy Liabilities. He has shown great leadership skills in his former roles and has exactly the right experience and expertise to steer strategy for our Marine team at a global level.” Prior to joining legacy XL McAdams held positions at Reliance National in New York.
