West of England Club has named Emma MacCarthy as a Loss Prevention Officer.
MacCarthy joins West from Shell Shipping Management Ltd where she sailed as a 2nd Officer. West sad that she brought to the role “a wealth of experience in tanker vessels, specializing in both oil and chemical”.
MacCarthy also studied psychiatric nursing, which West said meant that she was well-placed to offer valuable insight into the effects of mental health, “a much-needed resource following the Covid-19 pandemic and the strain it has had on seafarers”.
Simon Hodgkinson, Global Head of Loss Prevention at West of England, said that “it is great to be able to strengthen our well established and talented Loss Prevention team with new and diverse experience, enabling us to continue supporting our Members and colleagues at West.”
