US hits UAE-based Hennesea Holdings over alleged oil cap breaches

The US Treasury via its Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on UAE-based shipowner / operator Hennesea Holdings Ltd. OFAC stated that the company had exported Russian crude oil that was being sold for more than the coalition-agreed price cap.

Hennesea Holdings is the ultimate owner of 18 vessels, including the HS Atlantica (IMO 9322839).

The sanctions were announced on Thursday January 18th.

On December 1st last year OFAC had identified the HS Atlantica as property in which Hennesea’s subsidiary, US-designated HS Atlantica Ltd, has an interest. OFAC is now additionally re-identifying the HS Atlantica as property in which Hennesea had an interest.

2006-built, Liberia-registered 61,371 gt HA Atlantica is owned and managed by HS Atlantica Ltd of Monrovia, Liberia. ISM manager is Maritas Fleet Pvt Ltd of Maharashtra, India.
