UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an attack on Friday July 19th on a vessel off the coast of Yemen, about 83nm southeast of Aden, Yemen.
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) identified the vessel as container ship Lobivia (IMO 9228564). The MPA stated that the Singapore-flagged vessel was hit by an unidentified projectile at 10:30 (Singapore time) on July 19th, around dawn in the Gulf of Aden.
The attack led to a fire onboard, but this was extinguished by the crew. None of the crew was reported injured.
The partially laden vessel had departed Djibouti on July 16th. After the attack the vessel continued sailing and arrived at Berbera Port, Somalia.
Then, on Saturday UKMTO reported attacks on containership Pumba (IMO 9302566) when the vessel was about 64nm northwest of Al Mukha, a port city on the Red Sea coast of Yemen. The captain reported two attacks – the first by a UAV (aerial drone). That exploded near the vessel and caused minor damage.
The second was by a USV (seaborne drone) which exploded near to the vessel. A missile was also reported, which hit the water close to the vessel.

2001-built, Singapore-flagged, 23,652 gt Lobivia is owned by Lobivia Shipping Pte Ltd care of manager Asiatic Lloyd Maritime LLP of Singapore. ISM manager is Asiatic Lloyd Shipmanagement of Singapore. It is entered with Swedish Club (Singapore Domestic team) on behalf of Lobivia Shipping Pte.
As of July 20th the Pumba was en route from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (departed July 18th) to Port Klang, Malaysia (ETA July 29th).
