All 511 passengers and crew of the Caribbean Fantasy, which caught fire last week off Puerto Rico, have been confirmed safe.
The fire broke out on the morning of Wednesday August 17th in the vessel’s engine room, subsequently spreading. It ran aground a few hours later.
Ardent Global has been hired for the salvage and is putting together a vessel salvage plan for review by the US Coast Guard, which has established a 1,000-yard safety zone around the vessel.
There has also been 14,000-feet of booming pre-staged near Punta Salinas.
