Royal Caribbean extends suspension of sailings until November 30th

Royal Caribbean Cruises has extended the suspension of sailings until November 30th, excluding those originating from Hong Kong.

The US-based cruise operator said on Tuesday October 6th that its cruise brand Celebrity Cruises would be suspending its 2020-21 winter programme in Australia and Asia, while its Azamara cruises would suspend winter sailings throughout Australia and New Zealand, South Africa and South America.

Meanwhile, Washington State-based luxury cruise operator Seabourn announced on Wednesday that it would cancel 2020 and 2021 voyages for three cruise ships in its fleet, through to Spring 2021.

The announcement applies to Seabourn Odyssey (IMO 9417086), Seabourn Ovation (IMO 9764958), and Seabourn Encore (IMO 9731171). Specific details are:

Seabourn Odyssey’s pause is effective until January 15th 2021.

Seabourn Ovation’s pause is effective until April 18th 2021.

Seabourn Encore’s pause is effective until May 28th 2021.

Seabourn’s owner Carnival Corp said that the decision to cancel additional voyages was a proactive action to deal with the circumstances continuing to evolve from the global response to the COVID-19 situation.

Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn, said that “we know our past guests and travellers are eager to travel when the time is right and that time is on the horizon”.
