QBE chooses Brussels for EU “legal entity”

QBE, which owns fixed premium operation British Marine, has chosen Brussels as the headquarters for its European subsidiary in preparation for the UK’s departure from the European Union. “Our decision to set up a legal entity in Belgium ensures we can provide continuity of service irrespective of the outcome of Brexit negotiations,” Chief Executive Richard Pryce said in a statement.

QBE already has a branch in the Belgian capital and the staff there will take up roles in the newly formed company, which will be operational for 2019 renewals. London will remain as the headquarters of QBE’s European business.
