Ocean Viking back at sea

Offshore supply ship Ocean Viking (IMO 8506854) , financed by the NGO SOS Mediterranée and mainly used to rescue migrants in the Mediterranean, left the port of Marseille on January 11th for a new SAR mission in the Mediterranean Sea. It had been banned from sailing for five months, having been detained on July 22nd last year by Italian authorities because of a lack of life rafts.

1986-built, Norway-flagged, 2,090 gt Ocean Viking is owned by Ocean Viking AS care of manager Hoyland Offshore AS of Steinsland, Norway.
