Northern Sea Route cargo traffic in rose 4.8% year on year to end of October

Cargo traffic on the Northern Sea Route (NSR) totalled 28.21m tonnes in the year to date to the end of October, up 4,8%, year-on-year, according to the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).

Transit cargo transportation rose by almost 66%, reaching 2.125m tonnes.

The shipment of LNG and gas condensate from Sabetta continued to grow, up 1.9% year on year to 16.73m tonnes.

Between January and October 1,155 vessels were given permits for navigation in the water area of the Northern Sea Route, up 18% year on year.
