Norway-based marine insurer and Group Club Skuld has announced organizational changes which it said would position it for future growth, with the changes taking effect from November 1st.
As part of the changes, Skuld is adjusting its executive management team and streamlining its market organization. The insurer said that the new structure would create “larger, more resilient business units with broader market responsibilities, creating enhanced opportunities for co-ordination across regions and product lines as well as a more integrated client offering”.
Kristian Løberg will move from his role as chief financial officer to chief underwriting officer (CUO). Oda Bjerketvedt Norderud has been named as chief financial officer.
Global leadership roles will be established across Skuld’s core product areas. Lars Dueled will serve as global head of P&I, Paul Fry as global head of hull, and Christofer Kobro as global head of energy, reporting to the CUO.
Gregory Thomas, chief business development officer, continues focusing on Skuld’s market development and growth strategies.
The new unit structure will comprise the following business units, reporting to the CUO:
- Skuld Nordics, with teams in Oslo, Bergen and Copenhagen, led by Kristoffer Kohmann.
- Skuld Europe, with teams in Oslo, Hamburg and Piraeus, led by Lars Dueled (interim). A permanent leadership position to be advertised.
- Skuld UK & Americas, with teams in London and New York, led by Paul Fry.
- Skuld Singapore & Japan, with teams in Singapore and Tokyo, led by Nick March.
- Skuld Hong Kong, led by Patrick Wang.
- Skuld Energy, with teams in Oslo, London and Singapore, led by Christofer Kobro.
As part of Skuld’s succession planning and to ensure continued development of Skuld’s position in one of its key markets, a leadership transition will take place in Skuld Hong Kong in September 2027, with Wei Fan succeeding Patrick Wang as head of the Hong Kong business unit. At that time, Patrick Wang will assume the role of chairman of Skuld (Far East).
Ståle Hansen, Skuld president and CEO, said that “the changes we are introducing will strengthen co-ordination across regions and products, improve how we deploy our expertise, and create an even stronger platform for future growth. Most importantly, this restructure will further enhance our ability to support our members, clients and brokers through a more integrated and resilient organization”.
