Michael Weber has joined Edge as Head of Broking at Edge Denmark Aps. Mr Weber was most recently Partner, Chief Underwriting Officer and COO at marine underwriting agency and Lloyd’s Coverholder Lavaretus Underwriting, where he also underwrote a marine Special Risk portfolio.
His former positions include Area Manager, Risk Management Director, and Nordic Underwriting and Portfolio Manager at RSA Scandinavia Denmark. He was previously an Underwriting Manager with Tryg Vesta, and also Reinsurance Manager and Marine Claims Handler with Codan. Mr Weber attended the Danish Insurance Academy and has had a former career with the Royal Danish Army.
Edge said that its Special Risk Practice, one of three core areas, was seeing significant growth, and that Mr Weber’s appointment was intended to expand these Special Risk capabilities and to pursue and support growth of Edge’s Danish marine portfolio. [email protected]
