Cruise companies are proving to be more optimistic about 2021. Odyssey Of The Seas (IMO 9795737) is currently scheduled to be delivered to Royal Caribbean from Meyer Werft on March 24th. according to Royal Caribbean International Senior Vice-President of Hotel Operations, Mark Tamis.
Speaking to travel agents during a webinar he said that “now, technically, the ship is still owned by Meyer Werft shipyard, and coming up in just a couple of weeks, I think, on the 24th of March, we’ll take delivery and then we become the owners”.
Odyssey Of The Seas has recently completed its conveyance down the Ems River from Papenburg, Germany to the North Sea, meaning that it is ready to begin sea trials, of which one or two sessions are common, pushing speed and steering to their limits.
These trials are conducted with a combination of Royal Caribbean crew members and shipyard workers from Meyer Werft.
2021-built, Bahamas-flagged, 168,666 gt Odyssey Of The Seas is owned by Odyssey Of The Seas Inc care of manager Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd of Miami, Florida. It is entered with Gard P&I on behalf of Odyssey of the Seas Inc and, until completion of delivery, with Meyer Werft GmbH.
