The Maritime Union of Australia withdrew on November 10th its notices of industrial action for member employees at Patrick Terminals, effective until December 10th.
The decision by the MUA came before a hearing at the Fair Work Commission on Patrick’s application to force the union to terminate the action.
MUA assistant national secretary Jamie Newlyn said that Patrick Terminals had returned to the negotiating table and that the MUA was looking forward to arriving at an agreement with which both sides could be happy.
Patrick Terminals told customers that it and the MUA had attended a long conciliation session this morning at the Fair Work Commission in an attempt to resolve the matters before the hearing date.
Patrick said that it was continuing to engage with the MUA “on a daily basis” in an effort to come to an agreement.
