London-based shipping law firm has promoted Matthew Montgomery to the position of partner, effective June 1st 2019. Montgomery has a broad shipping practice, advising primarily on wet and dry contentious matters. He has particular expertise in the investigation and handling of disputes arising out of marine casualties including groundings, collisions and salvage cases.
In recent years Montgomery has been involved in a number of major casualties, including AS Fortuna, Thorco Lineage, Kea Trader, New Katerina and Norman Atlantic and handles a wide range of disputes for shipowners, charterers, cargo interests and their respective insurers.
