Markel International, the London-based subsidiary of Markel Group, has recruited Sam Pik Ying as a specialist marine underwriter, based in the firm’s Singapore office. She joins from MS Amlin. Ying will underwrite general marine and marine liabilities, including ship-owners P&I, charterers, ship repairs and marina operations, alongside energy liability business.
She will report to Colin Fordham, Director of Asia, and will cover Markel’s marine portfolio in both South and South East Asia.
At MS Amlin Ying was responsible for underwriting a P&I portfolio. Previously, she worked at Charles Taylor.
