General cargo ship CEG Galaxy (IMO 8516263) ran aground at the south end of the Isle of Jura, western Scotland, before dawn on August 1st while en route from Belfast to Corpach with five crew members on board. The ship refloated after about 40 minutes and was escorted by the RNILO boats from Islay and Oban to Corpach onward from the Gulf of Corryvreckan. It arrived in Corpach some 12 hours later. MCA surveyors were to attend the ship on Aug 2nd. As of August 8th the vessel was underway from Glasgow to Fishnish, Isle Of Mull.
1986-built, Latvia-flagged, 1,212 gt CEG Galaxy is owned by CEG Galaxy GmbH care of Fehn Shipmanagement of Leer, Germany. It is entered with Thomas Miller Specialty (Hamburg issued).
Cargo ship Pacanda (IMO 9343675) was caught by strong winds during the morning of August 3rd and allided with a wharf in Tokyo. After an investigations by the Japanese Coast Guard the vessel sailed for Yokohama. As of August 8th the vessel was underway from Kobe, Japan (Departed August 7th) to Keelung, Taiwan, ETA August 9th.
2007-built, Antigua & Barbuda-flagged, 9,610 gt Pacanda is owned by Kufstein Condor 242 care of OKEE Shipmanagement & Co KG of Hamburg, Germany. ISM manager is HPS Shipping & Management GmbH of Bremen, Germany. It is entered with West P&I (European Claims) on behalf of Condor 242 Schifffahrts-GmbH & Co. KG MS “KUFSTEIN”.
Fishing trawler MFV Excel (MMSI 235001318) collided with chemical/oil products tanker Petrel Pacific (IMO 9876397) late on August 6th while en route from Milford Haven to Port Everglades, with 20 crew members on board. There were five crew on the MFV Excel at the time of the incident. MRCC Dublin maintained Safety Communications with the trawler until its safe arrival in Dunmore East. The Irish rescue helicopter R117 was tasked, but was stood down once it was confirmed that no assistance was required. No injuries, water ingress, or pollution were reported. As of August 8th the Petrel Pacific was underway in the Celtic Sea en route to Port Everglades, ETA August 19th. The MFV Excel was engaged in fishing in the English Channel, south of Saltcomb.

ISM manager is PACC Tanker Management Pte Ltd of Singapore. It is entered with Gard P&I on behalf of Petrel Pacific Pte Ltd. Gard is claims leader for Hull on behalf of Pacific Carriers Ltd.
Tug Atlantic Star 11 (MMSI 525400180) lost barge BG Labanan 6, which had logs on board, on August 6th in the Java sea halfway between Java and Kalimantan. The barge ran aground onto reefs of Masalembu island, and as of August 7th it remained stuck. The barge was under tow from East Kalimantan to Surabaya, East Java.
