Marine accident round-up : 24th March 2022

The Port Authority of Karystos, Greece, was informed. The ship proceeded to the bay of Karystos, where the patient was transferred to the Agios Nikalaos and was then transported to the port of Karystos, where he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the Dioklio Hospital in Karystos. A 52-year-old crew member of oil products tanker Fres (IMO 9531363) needed immediate hospital treatment, the Port Authority of Skala Katerini was informed on March 21st. The vessel was anchored near the port of Litochoro, Greece.. The patient was transferred to a patrol boat and was then transported to the beach port of Pieria, where he was picked up by an ambulance and transported to the General Hospital of Katerini. As of March 23rd the vessel was at anchor off Karitsa, Greece.

A crew member needed to be evacuated from cruise ship Costa Luminosa (IMO 9398905) during the night of March 20th/21st while it was en route from Barcelona to Lisbon. An SAR helicopter was mobilized by the CCS of Salvamento Marítimo in Valencia to carry out the medical evacuation. The patient was hoisted aboard and transferred to Manises airport, Valencia, where an ambulance was waiting. As of March 23rd the cruise ship was moored at Lisbon, Portugal.
