Passenger/Cargo RoRo Champion Jet 2 (IMO 9135896) suffered damage to her port propeller while preparing to depart from the port of Thira, Greece, on September 15th. The vessel, which was on her scheduled service from Iraklion to Rethimnon, Thira, Naxos, Mykonos and Piraeus with 898 passengers on board, remained sidelined at Thira. The Port Authority detained the ferry until the propeller was repaired and a class maintenance certificate was issued. The 898 passengers on board the vessel were disembarked and travelled to their destinations on Champion Jet 1. 1996-built, Cyprus-flagged, 5,005 gt Champion Jet 2 is owned by High Speed Jet Ltd care of Seajets Catamaran of Piraeus, Greece. It is managed by Sea Jets Maritime of Piraeus, Greece.
