Bulk carrier Morandi (IMO 9627837) reportedly interrupted its voyage from Yuznhiy, south-western Ukraine, to Lanshan, China on October 13th after a crew member died. The vessel called at Bandar Aceh, Indonesia, to transfer the body of 48-year-old Filipino crew member to shore. He had been suffering acute abdomen pain, and suffered a heart attack prior to his death. The body was taken to a morgue at Bandar Aceh. The bulk carrier resumed its voyage same day with an ETA of October 22nd. Container ship CMA CGM Missouri (IMO 9679919) ran aground in the Suez Canal while transiting the waterway in southern direction during the morning of October 14th while en route from Port Said to Jeddah. Three Suez Canal tugs were in attendance. The Portuguese Maritime Accident Investigation Office has been informed by the Malta port authorities that container ship CMA CGM Vela (IMO 9354923) allegedly caused an oil spill in the port of Marsaxlokk on October 3rd, which resulted in pollution on the pier and in port waters. The Portuguese maritime investigation office has started to collect evidence of the incident. The ship left port on October 4th en route to Beirut, Lebanon, where it arrived on October 7th.
