Bulk carrier Suprastar (IMO 9521007) has been reported arrested at the outer anchorage of Chittagong port, by order of the local High Court dated August 8th in a litigation case. 2011-built, Marshall Islands-flagged, 33,044 gt Suprastar is registered as owned by Serono Shipping Co care of manager Midocean IOM Ltd of Douglas, Isle Of Man. It is entered with American Club on behalf of Serono Shipping Co.

Tug Lanpan 29 arrived at Chittagong outer anchorage on August 11th to take damaged bulk carrier Kavo Platanos (IMO 9612088) in tow. The convoy was underway to Singapore on August 13th, ETA August 23rd. Kavo Platanos collided with bulk carrier Dawn (IMO 9293686) at Chittagong outer anchorage during the morning of June 25th. 2011-built, Marshall Islands-flagged, 33,042 Kavo Platanos is owned by Indy Maritime SA care of manager Gourdomichalis Maritime SA of Piraeus, Athens, Greece. It is entered with UK P&I Club (Area Group Piraeus H1) on behalf of Indy Maritime SA.

Vehicles carrier Makassar Highway (IMO 9235426), which ran aground in the Tjusts archipelago, Sweden, on July 23rd left the port of Oskarshamn during the morning of August 13th, bound for a repair yard in Gdansk, Poland. The Swedish Coast Guard was monitoring the tow. The Makassar Highway was being towed by tugs Herbert and Fenja with an ETA at Gdansk of August 17th. 2001-built, Panama-flagged, 17,735 gt Makassar Highway is owned by Makassar Highway Shipping SA care of ‘K’ Line European Sea Highway Services GmbH (KESS) of Bremen, Germany. ISM manager is Stargate Shipmanagement GmbH of the same city. It is entered with UK P&I Club (Area Group London J1) on behalf of Makassar Highway Shipping SA.

General cargo ship Hazar (IMO 9674921) suffered a technical malfunction in Çengelköy during the morning of August 13th under the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, subsequently going adrift in the Bosphorus. The ship dropped anchor and reversed full astern, and thus narrowly escaped hitting one of the famous historical mansions on the Bosphorus embankment. Shortly after a full stop, the ship resumed moving under own power, made a loop and anchored near the shore Anadolu Hisarı. 2013-built, Malta-flagged, 18,306 gt Hazar is owned by Hazar Ltd care of manager Nova Marine Carriers of Lugano. Switzerland. ISM manager is Canakkale Liman Isletmesi of Canakkale, Turkey. It is entered with London Club on behalf of Hazar Ltd.

General cargo ship Manisa Camilla (IMO 9362657) allided with the Ceuta heliport pier while docking at the Alfau wharf shortly before noon on August 14th. Some concrete of the pier broke off and the ship suffered a breach in the portside bow above the waterline. The vessel had arrived at Ceuta from Sevilla. The accident apparently was caused by an engine failure of one of the tugs assisting the Manisa Camilla in her docking procedure. 2006-built, Netherlands-flagged, 5,604 gt Manisa Camilla is owned by Short Sea I AS care of manager Vaage Ship Management of Bergen, Norway. It is entered with Skuld (Bergen business unit) on behalf of Vaage Ship Management AS.
