Built in 2015 and registered in the Netherlands, the 111.6 metre Eemslift Hendrika is a yacht transport vessel, carrying smaller boats on its deck, according to Monaco-based Starclass Yacht Transport, which markets the ship’s services.

Bulk carrier RHL Julia (IMO 9478901) was in allision bulk carrier Aisha Sarwar (IMO 9200433) at the outer anchorage of Chittagong, Bangladesh, on April 3rd.. Both ships suffered damage. The lightening of RHL Julia continued at Chittagong outer anchorage on April 8th and was expected to be completed by April 11th. Lightening of the cargo of the Aisha Sarwar also continued at Chittagong outer anchorage. The Aisha Sarwar was expected to sail for Mongla on April 10th with a balance cargo on board, ready for final discharge at Mongla.

A sailor was reported as run over aboard RoRo container ship Sumela Seaways (IMO 9356749) by a towmaster during unloading operations in the afternoon of April 4th, in the port of Sète on the French Mediterranean coast. He was rescued by a team of firefighters and transferred to a local hospital. A SMUR helicopter later took the victim to the Montpellier University Hospital, but he died during the night. The circumstances of the accident remained to be determined.

The bow of Passenger/Cargo RoRo catamaran Melina II (IMO 8841577) allided with the quay in the port of Athinios early on April 5th due to strong waves. The Port Authority of Thira, Greece was informed by the Master of the incident .The ramp became detached. There were no injuries and no marine pollution resulting from the incident. The ship had nine crew members and nine empty cargo vehicles on board. The Port Authority of Thira banned the ship from sailing until the damage was repaired and a class maintenance certificate could be presented by the attending classification society. The ship remained in port as of April 6th.
