MAIB investigating collision off Gibraltar

The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has launched an investigation into a collision between  UK-registered container ship ANL Wyong (IMO 9334155) and Italian registered LPG tanker King Arthur (IMO 9480382) on Saturday August 4th about four miles off the coast of Gibraltar.

Both vessels suffered damage in the collision but no pollution or injuries were reported. Both ships were moored at the nearby port of Campamento, Spain as of Wednesday August 8th.

2008-built, UK-flagged, 39,906 gt ANL Wyong is owned by Fenice Bail 2 SNC care of ISM manager CMA CGM International Shipping of Singapore. Commercial manager is ANL Container Line Pte of Port Adelaide, Australia. It is entered with North of England Club on behalf of SNC Fenice Bail 2. It is entered for H&M and H&M War with Norwegian Hull Club on behalf of CMA CGM SA, with Gard having a subscription position.

2011-built, Italy-flagged, 4,761 gt King Arthur is owned and ISM managed by Mediterranea di Navigazione of Ravenna, Italy. Commercial manager is Gasmare Synergy SRL of Saronno, Italy. It is entered with Standard Club (Mediterranean & Middle East Division) on behalf of Mediterranea di Navigazione SpA.
