Maersk postpones Oman-Qatar container feeder route for a week

Maersk Line has postponed the first container feeder service from Oman to Qatar until June 26th. It had been planned to start the service on Monday June 19th. As a result of the cutting of diplomatic ties with Qatar by Saudi Arabia – its only land neighbour – the UAE and others, Maersk Line planned to deliver cargo to Qatar by

transferring containers on to smaller vessels in Oman and travelling on from there in a rolling 10-day round trip service. The first feeder shipment is now expected to Salalah on June 26th and arrive in Doha on June 30th. It was not clear why the initial trip had been delayed.
