Germany-based high-performance car manufacturer Porsche will be restarting production of a sequence of limited-edition 911s after 37 Porsches sank, along with more than 2,200 other vehicles that were on board conro Grande America when she went down last week in the Bay of Biscay.
A Porsche Brazil spokesperson confirmed that it had 37 new cars on board the ship, including four rare 911 GT2 RS, priced at nearly $300,000 apiece that were being shipped from Hamburg, Germany to Santos, Brazil.
Porsche said that it was taking steps to restart production in order to “uphold its commitment” to its customers in Brazil, and the company has ensured that those vehicles will be reproduced in the order in which they were received, reported Reuters.
