Japan Club warns on crew safety at Conakry, Guinea

Japan Club has been informed by its local correspondent in Guinea, TCI Africa Conakry, that a few days ago the correspondent had attended a vessel where crew members had been beaten severely by robbers, who had stolen cash, mobile phones and electrical items.

Fortunately, there was no loss of life.

Japan Club said that at Conakry Port it was highly recommended that, if vessels were not berthing on arrival (after tendering NOR), that they go out to open sea, remain cautious and await until a berth is available.
