Ivory Coast port reopens

The cargo handling and export operations in Ivory Coast’s main port of Abidjan, which had been blocked by paramilitary soldiers known as “gendarmes”, have recommenced. Although the city is becoming calmer, there is still occasional gunfire. Roads to the port have re-opened and shippers have resumed exports. Cocoa exporters in Abidjan and San Pedro have restarted work. However, the both ports are working under highest security precautions.
