Indonesia export ban will not include crude palm oil: report

Indonesian government officials told palm oil companies on Monday April 25th that an export ban announced late last week would cover shipments of refined, bleached, deodorized (RBD) palm olein but would not includecrude palm oil, Reuters reports, citing two unnamed industry sources. The majority of Indonesia’s palm exports are in the form of processed oils and remain affected by the ban. President Joko Widodo announced last Friday April 22nd that Indonesia, the world’s biggest palm oil producer, was halting exports of the edible oil from April 28th in order to ensure domestic food product availability
