Howden names marine regional leader for TMEA region

Howden, the retail broking arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, has named Bozidar Ljubisavljevic as regional marine practice leader of its Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMEA) region.

Ljubisavljevic will be based in Howden’s Dubai office. He has joined Howden from Marsh, where he was head of the regional marine specialty practice for Middle East and North Africa region. He has more than 18 years’ experience, with a deep knowledge of the marine insurance broking field, including H&M, P&I, marine liability and cargo, and advising clients on effective contractual risk mitigation strategies.

The appointment expands Howden TMEA’s specialty focus and capabilities across various marine insurance products including hull & machinery, war risks, loss of hire, protection & indemnity, defence (FDD), builders’ risk, ship repairers’ liability, cargo & stock throughput, and others.

“I am glad that we are attracting exceptional talent that shares Howden’s vision and has over and above the necessary industry knowledge,” said Atinc Yilmaz, CEO of Howden TMEA.

Last April Howden bought a majority stake in Istanbul-headquartered ACP to expand Howden’s existing presence in Turkey and become one of the country’s largest insurance brokers.
