Hardhaus repair cost put at nearly $5m

The repair of fish carrier Hardhaus (IMO 9263536), which was caught up in the capsizing of floating dock Nordsøkedralen in mid-August, will cost about NKr40m ($4.85m), it has been reported.

Work would be required on both auxiliaries, the axle generator and gear. All the pumps were damaged and a great deal of electronics needed to be replaced. The hull also needs repair.

Work was already under way at the Ørskov Yard in Frederikshavn, and the owner hoped that the repair would be completed by Christmas.

82-metre floating dock Nordsøkedralen suffered an incident and capsized on August 17th while Hardhaus was inside it.

2003-built, Norway-flagged, 1,936 gt Hardhaus is owned by Hardhaus AS and managed by Mogster I, both of Bekkjarvik, Norway. It is entered with Gard P&I (Bermuda) on behalf of Hardhaus AS
