Fish carrier Hardhaus (IMO 9263526) was close to being declared a constructive total loss (CTL) after lying partially flooded for several days in a capsized floating dock in Hirtshals.
The cost of damage estimate has risen to above €10m. However, despite the extensive damage the owner Geir Møgster said that Hirtshals Shipyard had handled the incident in a good way. The repair of the trawler has been put out to tender.
The most serious damage was in the engine room where hundreds of tons of sea water penetrated. There was also been extensive damage to the wheelhouse, and the mast broke off.
2003-built, Norway-flagged, 1,936 gt Hardhaus is owned by Hardhaus AS and managed by Mogster I, both of Bekkjarvik, Norway. It is entered with Gard P&I (Bermuda) on behalf of Hardhaus AS.
