Broker Gallagher has announced the appointment of Darren Rowland as executive director of hull and war risks in its global marine practice. Rowland brings more than 40 years’ experience in marine broking to the post. In his new role he will be based in London and support Gallagher’s extensive client base providing bespoke risk management and insurance solutions to mariners globally.
Rowland joins Gallagher from specialist Lloyd’s marine and energy broker ATL where he had been lead marine broker for the past seven years. Prior to this he spent more than 20 years at Willis in a number of senior marine broking roles, including stints in London and Hong Kong. He will report to managing director of marine, Andrew James.
