The final report on sunken Iranian oil tanker Sanchi (IMO 9356608) will be released within a month from now, according to Hadi Haghshenas, deputy director for Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
He told Iranian media that the results of the investigation into Sanchi, which sank on January 14th after colliding with freighter CF Crystal (IMO 9497050) on January 6th, resulting in the deaths of all personnel on board, will be released at the beginning of May.
“The information stored in the two black boxes (VDRs) has been retrieved and the final report on the incident will be released in Shanghai, China”, he said, noting that representatives from Iran, South Korea, China and flag-state Panama would be present at the final meeting on the incident. Haghshenas also said that PMO had interviewed the sailors on CF Crystal, adding that the results of the interviews would be included in the final report.
