DP World has said in response to media reports that it was considering an out-of-court settlement with the Djibouti government over the Doraleh Container Terminal that it would not consider any legal solution outside a court settlement.
DP World said at the weekend that it was waiting for a ruling from the International Arbitration Court in London, adding that “we remain committed to operating Doraleh port as per the original agreement of the concession, and we will not consider any other alternative settlement option”.
In February the Djibouti authorities cancelled DP World’s contract to run the Doraleh terminal, causing DP World to respond that the move by Djibouti to take control of the port was illegal.
