DFDS suspends ferry service due to stricter travel restrictions

DFDS has stopped passenger transport on the route Copenhagen-Frederikshavn-Oslo due to new stricter travel restrictions. This means that Passenger/Cargo RoRo  Pearl Seaways (IMO 8701674) will temporarily be taken out of service until at least January 17th. Its crew will be sent home on the wage compensation scheme. New travel restrictions in Denmark discourage all travel to any other country. They have also tightened the requirements for entering Denmark. DFDS said that this removed the basis for further sailing on the route. The next departure from Copenhagen is currently scheduled for January 18th.
