Damage assessments completed on ruptured gas pipeline at Port O’Connor

A Unified Command of the US Coast Guard, Texas General Land Office, Genesis Energy and RLB Contracting Inc has completed its damage assessments of a natural gas pipeline ruptured by US-flagged dredger Jonathon King Boyd. Waterways near Port O’Connor, Texas, have been reopened.

An Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, hydrographic survey team, completed a survey of the damaged pipeline and confirmed that the pipe was not protruding from the ocean floor.

The gas pipeline fire broke out on April 17th after being hit by the dredger, which also caught fire. The impacted pipeline was secured and appears to have burnt itself out by April 20th.
