Cruise ship itineraries delayed, altered, by winter storm

The north-eastern US winter storm has disrupted several cruise ship itineraries. New York-based Norwegian Breakaway was delayed in returning to her home port until January 5th, thus delaying loading for her next departure. Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 delayed her departure from New York by a day, leaving Thursday January 4th morning instead of on Wednesday. She is still on schedule to arrive in England on January 10th.

In Charleston, South Carolina, Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas reported minor effects: its staff were forced to cancel shore excursions due to inclement weather. The city received several inches of snow accumulation Thursday.
