Cosco recovers part of US network

Chinese shipping company Cosco has restored online functionality of some of its US network, it told customers on Sunday July 29th. Company emails and VOIP phone services have been restored, as has the issue of original bill of lading services and cargo transfer services through the US rails system, but the public mailbox for customer service was not yet ready to go back online, the company said. The hazardous/awkward-cargo booking service was still suspended.

Cosco said that it expected the email service in the Americas region as a whole would be restored this week.

Three days earlier Cosco said that the network failures affected the US, Canada, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Uruguay, but that the main business operation systems continued to perform stably. Vessels continued to operate normally.
