Containers of frozen beef worth US$2.9m go missing in Hong Kong

Hong Kong police are searching for 27 shipping containers carrying frozen meat worth HK$22.8m (US$2.9m) were reported stolen. A citywide manhunt started after police received a report from the suspect’s two business partners – both from mainland China – last Monday February 5th.
The two mainland businessmen apparently reached a deal with the suspect to buy HK$22.8 million worth of frozen beef from overseas, South China Morning Post reported. The two men failed to receive payment and lost contact with the suspect. Police are treating the case as theft.
