Compensation for dirty oil will be on case by case basis, says Sorokin

Compensation for the tainted Russian oil which was supplied to Europe in cargoes and via the Druzhba pipeline will be on a company-by-company basis, Russia’s Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin informed Reuters.

He said that the costs to clean the oil were different for crude supplied by the pipeline from the oil shipped by sea. State oil pipeline monopoly Transneft plans to pay compensation, he said.
