Work has begun resuming at major state-owned shipyards and at some of the private shipbuilding companies in China.
The two major private Chinese shipyards, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding and New Times Shipbuilding were reported to have partially resumed normal operations.
Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding have also returned to work.
Other shipyards in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces were scheduled to resume work from this week.
Newbuilding delivery volume of China in 2020 is forecast to drop by 10%, from 75m dwt to 67.5m dwt, according to Bao Zhangjing, deputy director of China Institute of Marine Technology & Economy.
